Eager to ignite a movement within the punk community, guitarist/vocalist Benjamin Hudnall, bassist/vocalist JohnMichael Cone, and drummer Haydn Cone are not only making a name for themselves but also carrying the torch of nostalgia, keeping the spirit of the 90s and 2000s alive. These guys exude incredible energy and are actively supporting the local community and music scene that originally inspired them to start their own nostalgic-fueled movement, complete with catchy melodies for everyone to enjoy.
Welcome to Bottom of the Bill! This week, we're joined by Jax-based country artist Madison Hughes. Sitting down and talking to her about her musical direction, the start of her creative journey, and much more was a joy! Madison is a versatile singer-songwriter across multiple genres and styles, creating "countrified" versions of rock classics or more folksy, sultry interpretations of pop hits. In 2022, she decided to audition for The Voice. After a lengthy vetting process, she secured a coveted spot on the Blind Auditions stage by charming the coaches with her country rendition of Bob Dylan's classic, 'Knocking on Heaven's Door,' earning a three-chair turn.
Welcome to Bottom of the Bill! This week, we have the honor of welcoming Mark Lettieri, a five-time GRAMMY Award-winning guitarist, composer, producer, and instructor. He is a musical virtuoso and a driving force in contemporary instrumental music. With a lifelong passion for the guitar, Mark's journey has taken him from the stages of the jazz-fusion powerhouse Snarky Puppy to co-founding The Fearless Flyers, and now he enjoys a thriving solo career. Along the way, he has collaborated with a diverse array of artists. His remarkable skills, genre-blending compositions, and undeniable groove have made him a standout figure in the industry. Join us as we delve into the incredible career of Mark Lettieri.
This week on Bottom of the Bill, we welcome vocalist Cortnie Frazier and multi-instrumentalist Ihlan Magloire of Jacksonville’s Coyboi. Both have been active members of the Jacksonville music scene for years, playing with various cover bands and in studio sessions. They formed Coyboi in August 2020 to create music that uses their favorite genres: soul, R&B, rock, and emo music. With Coyboi, Cortnie and Ihlan get to create and play the music they want to create and play and take their music in any direction they choose. Their sound draws from pop, gospel, jazz, and rock.
This week on Bottom of the Bill, we had the pleasure of hosting Norah Dougherty, a professional pianist and LGBTQIA+ activist. With her incredible talent and unique perspective, Norah sheds light on her journey as a musician in the trans community, sharing both her triumphs and challenges that have shaped her into the remarkable artist she is today.
In this week’s episode of Bottom of the Bill, we welcome our new friend Jon Deering. Jon is currently the upright bass player in the Bryce Alastair Band, a Blues Rock and Roots band based in Jacksonville, FL. He’s just an all-around great dude and we had a great time with him on the show this week conversing about all things music.

He currently holds the esteemed position of Director of Instrumental Music at the Episcopal School of Jacksonville, where he nurtures and guides young minds, forging successful middle and high school ensembles. He actively participates in musical theater productions, lends his beats to the BayKings Band and local musical acts, and does quite well on social media. Moreover, he generously shares his expertise as a guest clinician and artist, enriching the musical experiences of students in different schools as he continues to profoundly impact the lives of aspiring musicians and enthusiasts alike.
This week on Bottom of the Bill please welcome world-class vibraphonist, musician, educator, and social entrepreneur - Drew Tucker. Drew is at the forefront of reinventing the Vibraphone for the modern audience. His “It’s Not a Xylophone” movement along with his passionate playing style is opening up new audiences to this unique instrument. His playing style melds soul, funk, jazz, and hip-hop influences, and has shared the stage with Shaun Martin, Mani Hoffman, Jeff Coffin, Chris Nix, Tom Hurst, Nebjsa Zikovic, and Mark Ford to name a few. Whether coaching eager high school students through national music competitions or leading and directing the growth of local arts institutions, Drew's passion for improving people’s lives through artistic endeavor is unwavering.
This week on Bottom of the Bill, we have the honor of welcoming Oz Noy. Oz is an amazing guitar player originally from Israel but now residing in New York. He embarked on his professional career at the age of 13, playing jazz, blues, pop, and rock music. Since then, he has made a tremendous impact on both the local and international music scene, defying many conventional norms. His philosophy, "It's Jazz. It just doesn't sound like it," reflects his groove-focused playing style, which has brought significant transformations to modern jazz genres.

Bob is an amazing saxophonist and all-around inspiring musician who’s had just an incredible career. He is also a prolific bandleader and solo artist with 11 albums under his belt, he played with John Mayer's band for five years and has also worked with Brian Blade, Aaron Goldberg, Gregory Hutchinson, and Tom Harrell. This was a very insightful and educational conversation for us and we hope you find some value here as well.

His band House Of Waters — who release music on Snarky Puppy’s GroundUP Music — have been deemed “One of the most original bands on the planet,” by NY Music Daily. This week we welcome one of the most prolific and creative drummers around, the legendary Jeff Sipe. Besides being one hell of a great drummer, Jeff is a pivotal figure within a wide variety of genres, including Southern rock, jam bands, avant-garde rock, avant-garde jazz, and even progressive bluegrass. He is a founding member of Aquarium Rescue Unit with Bruce Hampton. He was a member of Leftover Salmon and the Zambiland Orchestra, an experimental big band with members of Phish and Widespread Panic. He has toured with Trey Anastasio, Jeff Coffin, Jimmy Herring, Warren Haynes, and Keller Williams.
